Find an old small boat trailer and you will have the winch and all, the trailer can be anchored and then hauled away in the fall

I like the idea... but I would think it would be a pia to get the trailer to shore once loaded or i guess you are saying leave the trailer in the lake?

Yes that what I do. I have a ramp set up with rollers and a winch or we just leave them on the moorings.

How do you want to dock your Jetski?  Out of the water on shore or onto a floating/moored dock?

The old trailer setup seems like it would work great if you extend the tongue and use an ATV to haul it in and out of the water.

How deep is your frontage?  Shallow for a ways out or a good sloping drop off?

saw a pretty cool set up not to long ago, a guy put a 4x4 down into the ground standing up with another one back at an angle for bracing. then mounted a standard boat hand winch to the top. He also ran 2 4x4s on the ground out into the water. looked like he drove it up part way then winched it the rest of the way. looked nice and seemed to work well. Good luck!

thanks for the thoughts guys.... ideally I want a roller type or slide set up with the winch idea and not a float. something to keep it out of the water and at the shoreline so I can chain it up.  plenty of them online, but no patterns to steal.  I like the post of 4x4's and then I could remove it in the winter.  my frontage is very gradual as it starts at ankle depth and slowly goes out.  I guess all I would have to do is figure the angle of the rollers or run them flat.  whatever it is like I said I was hoping to have it out of the water on the shore and be able to move the frame out of the way in the winter.  I guess it's time for paper and pencil to sketch something. keep the thoughts coming.

they make a ramp with rollers that goes on shore,  my boss ha s acouple.  with steady water level they are better than my crank up lifts.

thought I would share some good news.... I ended up taking some 16' 2x8's and sistered them together, then ran two deck boards on top followed by some strips of hyfax.... one push and she slides to the the bottom slicker than a snot on a glass doorknob.  I would highly recommend using the hyfax for a boat trailer or launch/dock system.  love it when a plan comes together!
