PERC

My '06 600 Classic stalls out when trying to go in reverse when first started.  When the engine warms up, it work flawlessly.  It even works after short stops (such as lunch breaks).  It's just after that first start of the day.  Does anyone else experience the same thing, or have an idea why this happens?  Is this normal?

Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries when it's stone cold. If I let it idle for a couple minutes before trying reverse it usually isn't a problem.

same, my 09 Switchback is the same way.  I always let it warm up to 80 degrees before I will even move it.  Even then it will sometimes die on me the first time I try it at 80 degrees.  Reving (up to 1800-1900) it a little then pressing the PERC button will sometimes help.  I have noticed that after it is in reverse, then I press it again to have it go into forward it will die unless I rev it to 1800-1900 RPM.   But before I put an SLP pipe/can on it the PERC worked better, so they may be why I have to rev it sometimes.

Thanks for all the responses.  I'm glad to hear that there's nothing wrong with the sled.  Though it would be nice not to have to yank it off the trailer.  I almost never trailer, but this year I was forced to.

So there's validity in the saying, "Just Ride It!".

I guess Polaris didn't improve (or worsen) the eletronic reverse after getting it from Doo then.  Roll Eyes

The Cat's reverse on there 08's and newer don't run the engine in reverse do they?  The F1000 I was riding with seemed to go into reverse (then back into forward) pretty smooth, after warming up, their's was push button as well.

The 07 Cats used the Diamond Drive to go in to reverse.  Therefore, the motor doesn't shut down.  In either 08 or 09 when Ski-Doo's patent ran out, they used the technology to reverse the motor.  There was quite a weight savings in the diamond drive gearcase by swapping to the reverse motor technology.  I have an 07 with no issues, but also have the extra 15-20 lbs in the gearcase.
